Our History

GAC’s unique blended approach towards human factors analysis and system design is augmented by a multidisciplinary team of flight experts that includes human factors experts, industrial designers, test pilots, and training experts. This cadre of experts allows GAC understand and share the technology impact on flight performance, suggest product or system design changes, and refine the development of training programs to optimize end results for customers.

Human Factors

GAC has specific expertise in human factors, specifically within the aerospace domain. This includes the ability to assess how technology influences the human user. GAC possesses expert level knowledge in visual systems, basic ophthalmological function, behavioural techniques, work load assessments and in-flight evaluations for assessing human performance.

GAC has extensive experience evaluating advanced cockpits, helmet mounted displays, and sensor systems (such as Night Vision Goggles). In addition to its own capabilities, GAC can leverage the strengths of its partner organizations in the academic, industrial, and government sectors to the benefit of its clients. Services include:

  • Human Factors Test and Evaluation Programs
  • Work Load Evaluations
  • Cockpit Evaluations
  • User Machine Interface Evaluations
  • Human Factors Applied R&D
  • Product Usability Assessment
  • New Technology Development Using Human Engineering Systems Analysis
  • Human Engineering Systems Analysis Reports (HESAR)

Industrial Design

Many aerospace products are created primarily from an engineering standpoint. While the technical features are resolved, the design aspects necessary to optimize its acceptance and utility by the end user are often given low or secondary consideration, possibly leading to less than satisfactory market entry and costly redesign work. Involving an industrial designer early in the project development cycle can help you make your products more user-friendly from the onset of market entry, creating competitive advantage and increasing customer satisfaction.

An industrial designer considers how people interface with the products that touch our daily lives. They determine how  products look, how they are used, and how they will be made assessing a wide range of factors when creating a design – usability, manufacturing, ergonomics, form and colour, semantics and functionality – to ensure that a product satisfies the needs of all stakeholders.

Our industrial dream team

GAC has a design team that is experienced in the whole industrial design process, including research, concept development, and testing and refining. With specific expertise in human factors, ergonomics, marketing and brand identity, we can provide consultation services on all or part of the design process. In addition, GAC has experts in marketing, project management, and avionics for aerospace, as well as fixed and rotary wing pilots, to bring a unique understanding of the aerospace industry and its products.

  • Research market and determine design opportunities, trends and emerging technologies
  • Determine user needs and creating use scenario analyses
  • Develop design concepts
  • Validate designs: perform user testing
  • Design for manufacture – prototype and part design for mass production
