Human Factors

GAC has specific expertise in human factors, with a focus on aircraft and system design.  GAC has advanced experience in understanding the effects of Night Vision Goggles (NVG) on the human visual system and flight performance at night. This is also supported by a partner company, Night Flight Concepts (NFC – www.nightfightconcepts.com ).     In addition to analyzing how technology affects performance, GAC can provide suggested design changes that will improve human performance and enhance product development. GAC can offer the following human factors analysis capabilities:

  • Usability assessment of technology in operational settings;
  • Planning human factors design and analysis for providing an in-depth understanding of how technology will influence human performance during flight;
  • Design review of technology to enhance human and product performance;
  • Execution of human factors analysis to include data collection, recording and analysis;
  • Human Factors Test and Evaluation Programs;
  • Work Load Evaluations;
  • Cockpit Evaluations;
  • User Machine Interface Evaluations;
  • Human Factors Applied R&D;
  • Product Usability Assessment;
  • New Technology Development Using Human Engineering Systems Analysis;
  • Human Engineering Systems Analysis Reports (HESAR); and
  • Test Reports.  After the completion of the analysis phase GAC can prepare detailed final test reports.

GAC’s unique blended approach towards human factors analysis and system design is augmented by a multi-disciplinary team of flight experts that includes human factors experts, industrial designers, test pilots and training experts. This cadre of experts allows GAC to understand technology impact on flight performance, suggested design changes, and develop training programs.
