Flight test is a branch of aeronautical engineering that develops and gathers data during flight of an aircraft and then analyses the data to evaluate the flight characteristics of the aircraft and validate its design, including safety aspects.
GAC offers a broad range of Flight Test and Certification services, including Transport Canada Delegate (DAR) services, ranging from writing a test and evaluation plan to managing a full flight test and certification program. Leveraging internal staff and its network of associates, GAC provides qualified teams with exceptional experience to lead and conduct civil and military operational and engineering flight test programs in areas of flight testing, aeromedical evaluations and aviation human factors analysis.
GAC offers clients flight test and certification services in the following areas:
- Test and Evaluation Master Plans: Comprehensive test plans including the detailed high level planning necessary to successfully execute complicated and demanding test programs in accordance with certification requirements.
- Test Planning: test plans that permit a test team to gather the required test results in an efficient and safe manner.
- Technical Review Board (TRB): A comprehensive overview of a flight test process to ensure that the test methodology being proposed will enable the test team to collect the desired data.
- Safety Review Board: A review performed after the completion of a test plan and TRB, to ensure flight tests are conducted safely and risks are mitigated in a measured manner.
- Conduct of Flight Test (Developmental Test and Evaluation / Operational Test and Evaluation (DT&E/OT&E): flight tests conducted to include flight management, data recording and flying.
- Flight Test Reports: Provision of detailed post-flight reports and final test reports responding to customer needs and industry specification
- Flight Certification: Assisting clients to achieve TC/FAA Certification.
